mad dies while driving down the road

i have a 96 cummins 12v that just got 100k miles. as i was driving in 4th gear the throttle got really stiff then the rpms went down and then died. when i lost rpms i took it out of gear and still died. later that day i was in 3rd gear driving and just died. dose anypone no my problem?

might be the relay for the fss (fuel shut-off solenoid) might be the blue fuse-able link, might be the fss itself. there could be other problems but I would start here.

Yes, I would look at the fuel shutoff solenoid. It may be in the up or run position allowing the truck to start and run but drop due to a weak solenoid or hitting a bump etc. You can wire it in the up position to verify this.
