I just bought a 1997 2500 4/4 im use to drivin a mustang but it seems like it doesnt have much power takin off it doesnt smoke at all unless i kick it taking off or when i hit 50 mph all stock exept new 4inch straight pipe and guages has 150,000 miles on it idles about 1000 rpm pyro stayes about 800 just normal drivin seems like just going up little hills the rpm go past 2000 rpm unloaded never pulled anything or is this normal and i gets about 10-13 mpg

 

Read up on existing threads in here there is a lot of information out there. These truck come pretty sluggish but can be made pretty quick with little amount of money. I see u got gauges but fill out your signature with all your infomation.

 

yeah i was trying to figure out how to fill out my sig but its just got a new 4inch pipe put on left the new muffler off new gauges and k@n air intake i dont know anything about diesels maybe i should sell it?totally diff from a gas engine

 

if ur willin to learn i'd say keep it. X2 on searchin the threads. a little bit of money n u'll have that big ole truck whoopin that mustang's @$$.

yank the plate... tune the afc... and get a 4k gsk.... she will take off like a TOTALLY new truck!

 

theres gold underneath the hood of your truck. thats awesome finding a 12valve with that low of miles.

read up in these forums, and an hour or two of work to the injector pump, and itll be a completely different truck.

 

Have you changed your f uel fiilter ? also get a bhaf, 10-13 mpg dosn't sound right

 

yeah when i got it i had the oil changed fuel filter changed new 4inch turbo back pipe k@n air intake and new tires i drove it yesterday and it got about 16mpg but most days dont get that good
