Default Making 94 Dodge Diesel the Bomb

hey everyone, I find that my 94 Dodge 2500 is under powered. I am going to rebuild the engine now after 258 thousand miles. Can you give me some advised on what to focus on for a strong reliable engine with alot more power.

300k and low power doesnt necessarily mean that you need to do a rebuild. The Cummins is a medium duty diesel and should be able to do near double that without a rebuild. A compression test will help determine if you actually need to do a rebuild.

12V's (94's especially) dont have a lot of power. IMO, you could have some issues that need to be addressed. You should do a compression test and if thats good - start bumping the power up.

what kind of power are you looking for?

I put new rod and main bearings in my 94 at 180k only because the motor was already out of the truck. When I took them out the looked brand new, could have gone at least another 180k before they needed changed.
