intercooler relocation

digging up an old thread but anyone ever thought of mounting it under the front bumper angling back (the way a skid plate is mounted) infront of the oil pan for maximum airflow

The nose of these trucks is real short, I did a conversion on a 92 chevy and the main thing is you have to make sure the gaps between the ac condenser/IC/Rad are filled with foam or rubber to keep the air flow through the setup instead of letting it flow out the sides, also an electric pusher will help out also

put a 160* thermostat in. It will run cooler with less chance of pukeing up coolant.

That would be a bad idea. Thermostats set the operating temp at the optimum level for combustion efficiency under most normal use scenarios. You can remove the thermostat completely and let the coolant jacket run wide open, won't make a bit of difference if it can't shed the heat for some other reason.
