Default truck will not start. figured out the problem.

So we have a 97 12 valve, it started with idling rough on start up, then it would not start at all. So we ordered a new lift pump, put it on and still would not start. The fuel filter was full of air and we couldent get it out. So we took the air hose and a rag stuffed it in the fuel tank and built up some pressure, left the bleeder screw loose and nuthing but air bubbles. Then i got under the truck when i seen fuel leaking. There was fuel leaking out around the electricle plug in on the fuel bowl beside the lift pump, where the fuel heater is. It must have shorted out and melted the plug in so it was sucking air around it. We just unpluged it and filled the plug in with silcone, bled the filter again and it started right up. I wanted to post because it might help somebody else, so they dont go buy a new lift pump for nuthing. have any questions just ask, i probably left something out...
