Need 2WD drive shaft help!
I have a 2wd 96 2500, regular cab, that originally came with a 47RE. I am converting to a nv4500, and need some help identifying the correct driveshaft. All the salvage yards want me to measure my current shaft (which is different than the one I need) to confirm that theirs right, which I can not do. One yard has a shaft in stock (part number 52105690AD), which has a 31 spline input yoke, but they are not sure what wheelbase it is for. I called several Dodge dealers to see if I could confirm if this shaft will work in a regular cab/8ft bed truck, but they were no help. Here are my questions:
What is the wheelbase of a 2wd 96 regular cab 2500? Factory service manual says 135 inches, Dodge dealer says 134 inches?
Does anyone know the part number or length of the driveshaft that would fit in a 2wd 96 regular cab with a NV4500?
Would the drive shaft be two piece like my stock one?
The dealer wants my VIN to look up the correct shaft. Does the VIN specify the type of transmission?
Thanks!

It will be a two piece. The rear part of the shaft will measure the same because of the center support bearing. The front part will be longer,or shorter.

Hope this helps. If it was a 4wd it would be a one piece shaft.
