Who is doing your gear set up and what brand of gears are you using? Yukon is the only one you should be using. That abs thing is a tone ring.

Factory take outs will have a high prob of making noise if you want it to last buy Yukon I've set up a LOT of gears and no ones quality compares to Yukon. Another thing is break in period it is so critical to making the gears last. There is a lot of little tricks setting up gears per app. High toqure requires some tricks to make it last.

where did the teeth break at? yukon gears have gotten better but i would take a genuine spicer gear over any aftermarket gear. i would think that it was set up incorrectly. just my .02

ya i think this time it broke because of a half *** back yard repair job, i dont really care about the noise, the motor is already loud enough and i drown that out with my radio and subs, the first time i broke the pinon in half just about and this last time it broke two teeth in a row off the ring, where can i find a new toner ring and whats a good brake-in process?

The dealer or a junkyard will have the tone ring. Proper break in should be first 150 to 200 miles nothing over 45 mph no towing no buyouts short 10th to 15 mile tirps you want to get the gears warm and let them cool its all about heat cycles. After 200 miles you can do freeway speed but keep it short trips 10 to 15 miles with cool down in between do that till about 500 miles then change the fluid and your good to go. It takes a long time and sucks but it you want your gears to live its a must.
