Desperate, getting conflicting information

mad Desperate, getting conflicting information

Unit was running just fine begore I started. Wanted to do some preventive maint on my truck. Replaced the valve cover gaskets, numerous hoses, water pump, exhaust manifold (shrunk).
Got it back together and my turbo blew out (didn't know I had to prime it). Replaced turbo.
Started it up and all was fine. Let it run for 20 minutes, took it for a ride. White smoke EVERYWHERE.
Tore out the turbo, all ok. Took off the exhaust manifold, turned it on. Ran fine, nothing. Lt it run for 15=20 minutes. Starts to cough in one cylinder only. Black liquid comes out of the one cylinder only, no others. Black liquid comes out too. Not a lot, just enough to make it cough an miss a bit. I put he manifold back on, start it up. Runs fine until it gets warm, then WHITE smoke comes out of the exhaust manifold and it starts to cough.
I'm getting all kids of people telling me it's my had gasket.
I cant reconcile that. It was ruing just fine before started to"fix" things.
I am not seeing oil in my coolant nor water in my oil either. I see no compromise of the gasket from the exterior inspection (no obvious leaks)
HELP!! It's driving me nuts.
Black liquid coming from the cylinder, is that raw unspent fuel? If so, is my injector bad?
Someone tells me to "crack" the injector and see if it's spraying. Aren't they under pressure and can't that be dangerous?
Please HELP!!!
Any input would be greatly appreciated

if you crack the injector it wont hurt anything youll just see the fuel spraying. if it only sprays and inch or two you got a problem. my truck will shoot it out of the engine bay if i crack one

yeah cracking them wont hurt anything you actually have to if you ever run out of fuel

My 2 cents sounds like when your turbo went it lost a good bit of oil into your charge air pipeing and exhaust. When its burning off that explains the white smoke and the black liquid. does it feel like oil or fuel they feel taste and smell different. There can be a lot of oil in your inter cooler and exhaust... so check that before you pull the head please. Also it can cause a run away so be careful

You do need to a bit cautious when cracking an injector line. Take itty bitty (don't laugh) turns on the wrench 'til you get fuel. Some folks do it extra causiously and crack 'em all then start the engine and tighten 'em down.

sounds like this started from the turbo going out. only other question is did you try to adjust the valves and do it wrong?

Oh yeah to fix it you need to pull your inter cooler off and flush it with water and simple green (or your prefered oil removal soap) untill its clean there isn't much you can do about the exhaust except let it burn off over time good luck.
