Default clutch

ive got 2k to put in my transmission/clutch. i was slippin my single disk southbend clutch last night at the drag strip and i wanna make sure it doesnt happen again. this is a street truck that i wanna hook 2 a sled sometimes and wanna take down the strip occasionally. i should be somewhere around 400hp now and im looking to get 2 about 500-550hp. what im thinking right now is getting a dual disk 650hp clutch from kennyspullingparts.com with the 1 3/8 input shaft and having all the shafts in the transmission frozen.. i dont want the transmission to break on me. any suggestions r appreciated. btw 10.13 seconds/73mph in the 1/8th.. should be low 9's with the clutch holding

drag racing is very hard on these 5 speeds, with a strong clutch your gonna risk blowing the trans.

as for sled pulling a nice dual disk 12 button at least 3600 plate load ( higher if you can) and that 1 3/8" input shaft will work great

i no its really hard on the trans so i think ill have the shafts frozen to make them stronger and get the bigger input shaft. still havent found the clutch i want tho.. i agree with u but idk wat brand 2 get yet

i have only ran southbend in mine 3850 12 button DD ... stock shafts in the trans other than the 1 3/8" input.

I have broken 2 T cases this year and still have not hurt the trans.

I'm guessing he did this drag racing? i should have mentioned all mine were sledpulling

From what others have broken trying to drag race, its seems there is really no helping the 5 or 6 speeds.

To drag race a 12v 5spd truck and only pull a few times a year.....

Then you should consider a Haisley Machine "Street-Drag" double disc.

It is simply put one of the best shifting double disc units available today.
