hey guys, got the truck all back together and i have a problem.
i just put in sdx 5x.014 injectors in the truck.
i have a holset hx 40 16cm housing over a garret ht3b 23cm housing.
with my upgrades and inujectors, i should have enough air. especially with the quick spool up of the 3b.
but im seeing high egts cruising down the road, and when i barly get in the throttle the guage goes flying up. any suggestions?
im thinking back off the starwheel and maby sliding the plate back?
any help is welcome

 

what are the egts, and yes tune the pump alittle, that will help, might have to tune the wastegates alittle also

 

what do you consider hot egt's while cruising? doing like 70-75 on the highway my egts are about 800-900*. you definitely shouldnt be higher than that especially with twins

how many psi out of your primary? Secondary psi?

 

havent really got into it hard, need to do tranny tuning first.
but its running about 850-900 at 70, and i can raise the pyro, never went higher than 40psi yet. couldnt tell you drive presser. im looking into a guage tho. but now that i think about it. i had the hx40 opening at like 20psi. so the rest of the boost is coming from the primary. i should have a boost elbow laying around for it. if not ill block it for now. im gunna do a bit of tuning with the pump and wastegate and hopefully see some lower numbers guys

 

we need to know more info about the egts telling us you can raise the pyro means nothing, you can raise it 1300, or you can raise it 1800 there is a big difference there, whats the egts at wot, do they spike and drop, do they climb and continue to climb tell you let off, to they climb and then steady and hold, what are they doing and at what temps

 

flloor is and see what your egts spike at. just cause they go over 1300* doesnt mean its going to instantly hurt anything. if you peg it at 16-1700 for 3 or 4 seconds youll be perfectky fine. you jus dont want to be doing that for long periods of time. let us know what you peak at
