Default donor truck

bout a week ago one of my friends tipped me off about another 12 valve sittin so i went n talked to the guy. its a 96 4x4 reg cab with 220k on it with an NV4500. its a one owner truck. it runs n drives great. interior is S-H-O-T, body is in alright condition n the frame is rusted. there's way too much little stuff wrong with it to get it on the road. i gave the guy 1000 cash n loaded it on the trailer. im going to swap the manual trans into my 95 auto.

before i do though, im going to order a clutch from south bend, but i need to know what to get. there's barely anything done to my truck, i have a mack rack plug, 4k gsk, afc washers flipped, n no plate. the only thing im lookin to add to it are some 5x12's and a good turbo n maybe an airdog to feed it all. i tow with my truck quite a bit so im just wonderin what for a clutch i need.

n also for what im doin is there really any need to upgrade the input shaft? thanks in advance

i would call southbend but in my opinion i would just get a 13'' single disk with the normal lining. i wouldn't do the input upgrade unless you go dd.

i'll get some. the other truck really aint much to look at, just a virgin 96 reg cab with some rust and dent issues. n its missin a door n tail gate now cuz my buddy just bought a 94 n his drivers door wouldnt close n the tail gate was shot. i got busy yesterday yankin out the tranny n then a bunch of other stuff n forgot to call southbend so that will have to wait until tomorrow.... i really can't wait to do the swap so i can actually get power to the ground

the transfer cases do use atf. great investment. i just bought one for $800 with a "bad" motor. changed the oil cooler and o-ring on the block heater and already been 200 miles hauling hay and it seems alright. theres deals to be had u just have to find them

i would call valair clutches and ask them i have friends that have both south bend and valiar and the south bend guys are having more problems with there clutches and with a nv4500 if your hauling heavy loads and racing it i would atleast put a billet shaft a 13inch clutch upgrade and lock tite the crap out of the 5th gear nut
