Default tranny
i have a 97 12 valve with a 47re tranny that wont down shift when i stop any body had this problem

hows your fluid look? also does it stall or just start in the wrong gear?

fluid is a littel dark but changed fluid and filter it only has 120k miles on it when i put the truck in drive it wants to start out in 3rd gear

sounds like the electronic govenor and or pressure switch or both,, parts run bout 200 bucks,, i now carry an extra one of each in the cross box,,,
