question on timing kit ebay

Default question on timing kit ebay

want to do my own timing, what do you think about the kits on ebay, they are like $189.00. are they good kits or junk.

work great! i have one and timed 7 trucks with it. there just a socket dial indicator and a puller, comes with full instruction sheets and timing charts for all the different pumps. mm and inchs

i got a blue point one right off the truck for $200 the other day. i would spend the couple extra dollars and get the one with the warranty. another thing i didnt understand is the ones i saw on ebay had a dial indicator that used standard measurements. all the charts ive seen for timing were in metric.

it comes with a chart for metric and standard. best thing baout it being in standard is you can use it for setting ring and pinions etc etc.

and the 200 dollar blue point one doesnt come with a dv socket. thats where i decided to go with the ebay one at

mine came with the socket. you are right about the the dial indicator that makes it more versatile for sure. i wasnt aware that there was a chart in standard.

i got the blue point kit as well, had everything in it and a warranty, got the measurements as well off the net, as for needing a standard dial indicator i have 4 starret full kits and mag bases, i use them at work almost daily setting up field units,,, but the company just bought a lazer alignment tool and dang my life is eaiser now,,,
