Default help cummins white smoke rough idle

i recently installed a cummins 12 valve in my 2004 ford welding truck and it startin white smoking really bad goin down road and has a rough idle.and i took cap off resorvoir and antifreeze was pouring out then it stopped but runs good on high idle.any help will be much appreciated.thanks

Generally slipped timing of the injector pump will cause white smoke.

how would i check the timing? get motor tdc and see if key deal in side of pump fits in slot?

Yeah, that will make it run bad.

The best way is to remove delivery valve holder #1 on the pump and measure plunger lift as you roll the engine over. Then refer to a timing chart.

k thanks its worse when its cool outiside and a guy told me this morning i should hook up the heater grid in intake what you think.

anyone know how i could hook up heater grid in intake without the little solenoids cause i put this motor in my ford and i dont have the solenoids.

you didnt say the grid heater wasnt hooked up. that plays a part as well.

o sorry also i just checked the injectors with it running and 1and2 had fuel shootin right but the rest was just pouring

That doesnt tell you anything.

Have the timing checked by a shop if you dont have the tools.

ok my buddy has a timing kit ill check it i was just saying that it dont seem like its getting right amount of fuel cause i checked my older one that i got at house and it shoots fuel out when i crack injector lines

Sounds like timing. If you see white smoke while you're driving after a minute or so, it doesn't have much to do with your grid heaters unless it's really cold.
