Default another delivery valve question

i ran my fuel lines to my p pump today and cylinder 1 and 4 are leaking fuel out from the dv holders. im waiting for my dv socket to come in but im wondering if theres copper washers or orings or anything in there, or do i just need to tighten the dv holders down some more?

thanks

there is an o ring on every dv holder, they are very easy to cut. Some pumps have a copper sealing ring below the DV. I'm no expert on these pumps and I have heard some say you do not need them and others say you do.

The best advise I have gotten on that topic is ... if it came with copper sealing rings replace them with steel ones, if it had none to begin with then there not needed.

when i did my dvs a few weeks ago, i took the copper rings out and i dont have a problem with leaks and it runs great, i did notice the rubbers seals were really dry and i tore one, it now leaks, so i need to replace all my rubber ones, i also didnt use a torque wrench, maybe i should have, i just put them back really ****** tight

I think its a special ring, I'm sure you could get some from the fits all kit that are close. A new set of six o rings is arround 30 bucks from a cummins dealer.

Isn't the O-ring just a seal to keep dust and dirt out?
