Default shifter ideas

hey guys, just got the truck painted and starting my tranny swap for a 5r110.
my question is, should i just go to the junkyard and get a steering coulum out of an auto truck? or should i find a floor shifter?

what would the a baddass setup that wont cost alot?
or should i just stay stock with the colum shifter?
any input is welcome

mostly daily drive, race and pull once in a while.
the torqshifts use a cable to shift, id prolly have to rig something up to go on the stock steering colomn

I'd go with a floor mounted ratchet style shifter if it was mine. Gonna have to fab a mount for it so it sits up bit that's not to hard, just gotta get creative.

because it was out of my buddies 05 f 350.
it was already behind a 12 valve
2000$ worth of coversions parts. billet input shaft suncoast billet tripple disk convertor
new starter. pcs fully computerized stand alone computer with a laptop mounted in the truck . all custom tunning on the tranny with presets for fuel economy, racing, towing.
whole nine yards. all he wants is a 5spd so were trading straight up. only i have to do is rig up the shifter. and get my drive shafts relengthed.
gunna have a baddass computerized auto built to take over 800+ horsepower as it sits now.
over a 5000$ setup, just getting it all for my 5spd. talk about excited!!
