Default what are the best mods for pulling

i have a 1996 2500 2x4 5 speed that i use every day for my tree service not looking for a lot hp just wanting it to pull its bone stock right now thanks in advance

#5 fuel plate, tuned afc/star wheel, bhaf, and straight pipe. 350+rwhp and 750+lbs of torque= lots of pulling.

4x4



IMO the best place to start is with the driveline clutch, traction bars, stops, u joints, rearend ... the list goes on

Ya true a GOOD clutch if you are pulling will be a saviour. Truthfully these cummins are AWESOME for pulling right out of the factory. But with a few simple, cheap mods they are pulling-machines.

Ok I just reread the first post, by pulling are you talking about a sled or trailer?

As soon as anyone says pulling my first thought is a sled

im pulling chippers, stump grinders, 20 ft gooseneck dump trailer, the truck has lost a lot of power, but that is to expected with a half a million miles on it

i thought the exact same thing dave

an upgraded turbo does wonders for pulling a trailer also.

I would get a egt gauge if nothing else mabe upgrade your turbo wheel to a 60mm and i wouldnt buy a plate just grind your own.
