Default ??? piston swap ???

Well some of yall may know that i had a piston oiler break and cause a piston to score....well i was gonna put a set of new cummins oem pistons back in it...well when we called they gave us a piston number 3802489(they was going by the engine #s) and a option of a,b, or c.....well the numbers on the top of my piston is 2572 which from what i read was supposed to the last four digits of that part number and its not.....well as we was scratchin ours heads trying to figure out why the numbers werent matching up we got to digging around the shop and found a set of pistons out of a 99 24 valve with 60000 miles on it ive measured them and they check and are visually perfect and the number on them is 3709 but the combustion hole in the top of my piston is ofset and smaller....the ones for the 99 are centered and bigger ..... sorry for the novel... but to the point...could i use these pistons in my truck...any pros cons?..

No you can't use 24valve pistons. It has to deal with where the injector is in the head. If you were to use a 24valve piston it would be bad.

Injector placement, the 12v bowl is offset to accomodate the injector on a 28* incline, the 24v bowl is centered to accomodate the injector on a 0* incline.
