Default factory cummins/allison

i saw a transmission that caught my eye.supposed to be an allison that came behind a 5.9 cummins in a schoolbus.year 1995.has anybody heard of this,i can get this real cheap if it's worth it.

IVE HEARD SOMETHING LIKE THIS B4 BUT IM NOT SURE WHAT YRS IT IS.

We have 5.9 cummins with allisons in our crew trucks.. Ford 750 and above.. that trans would never fit in your truck without some serious cutting... I think it is an allison 5000 or something like that...

i had the chance to but a 91 cummins with allison bolted up to it, that also came out of a school bus... they only wanted 1200 i should have bought the set up

I'm still checking on this, but I do not believe that the Allison transmission used in buses is an overdrive model.

I was wrong. They have a double OD, 5th and 6th gear in the latest offerings. I'm not sure how far back they go though (which model years and whether the newest models are available in salvage yards).

None of these are rated to take more than around 300 hp or 600 ft/lbs torque. In other words, they are almost bullet proof in a stock application, even one that is moving 30K pounds, but not for higher hp figures.
