Transmission check ball Location
Hey guys got a question? Got a 96 ram 2500 4x4 and the transmission shifts wierd. Sometimes it feels like it isnt shifting right like possibly slipping and other times when i run it pretty hard ill come to a complete stop and while im at the light you can feel it downshift one or two gears. Talked to my old boss he said there may be something wrong with the check ***** could be in the wrong location or if they are plastic they could be worn out? I have never been in this tranny but when i bought the truck the guy said it had about 15000 on it since the rebuild and he said it had some performance parts in it. Has anyone heard of this. Also another question he had a T/C lockup switch installed on the dash and when i put it on it will put the transmission into limp mode my buddies have the switch also and it doesnt make theirs stop shifting when they turn the switch off but i have to shut the truck off to make it shift again. I was thinking maybe he didnt wire it correct or something? any help is appreciated.

there are detents in the valve body, idk if you're thinkin about that or the actual check valve in the trans cooler line, but it'll be in the pressure side of the trans line, the one with the rubber hose that goes up to the cooling can on the passenger side of the engine. i've heard of the check valve causing a hard engagment into gear from park but never heard of it causing it not to shift or down shift abruptly
