That would blow nuts. The IC and lines look fantastic; great shape. Could that be why mu truck is sloooow? I mean, compared to my '99 psd 7.3 6spd this thing feels like an auto 4cyl honda

Ok guys did some investigating. There is some device mounted right in front of the alternator or some electronic device (just got out of shower.. cant think of what it was) down low, drivers side, closest to the fan.. it has a vac line coming out of it towards the drivers side fender, then there is a 90* angle on it, and it's sucking air. Nothing attached to it.

About 6" from that line, there is a larger diameter harder clear plastic line just hanging out that goes up somewhere into something along the firewall..

Ya I was thinking about snapping pics but figured you guys would know what I was talking about. I dont think it's the alternator (pretty sure its not) I just cant think of what the heck that was right behind it. I'll have to check again tomorrow. Is that where the vac. pump is located? Drivers side, lower part of motor, few inches from the fan?

Thats the vacuum line for everything on the truck. Mine's capped because I don't need it. Trace back from your brake booster, figure out where it was cut on that end, then re attach it to the pump.

Interesting!! So there will be a main hookup line on the brake booster? Thats why my hvac and cc dont work then? Why do my brakes still work though ()

---AutoMerged DoublePost---

And I've come to the conclusion that the black smoke under the front end is oil from my front cover leak. Mystery almost solved!!

are your brakes hard to push? if so it needs vacuum to the booster if not there is a T in the middle of that main line coming out of the vac pump and that is where the smaller plastic line connects to
