Default shutoff

last night i was messin around under the hood, had the afc off, swapped out the washer messed with it a bit then put everything back together. i drove over to my girlfriends house n turned the key off n it stayed runnin for about 2 seconds, then shut off. it did it again this mornin when i stopped for fuel. but when i got to college, it shut off just fine. i've smelled the exhaust, no oil smell, no blue smoke or anything, n i checked the turbo n there's no sign of a leak so im thinkin the shutoff solenoid is stickin. how should i go about checkin it n cleanin it? can i use carb cleaner or brake clean?

That's what I think.....it might be binding up.....you'll burn it up in short order if it is. Better check it out o make sure it moves up and down freely.

Some of them have a ball joint at the end and others are just strait rod and when you pull the solenoid over to get the afc off you will bend the rod and it will bind up.

does your fusable link have a good positive battery connection? mine ran for a good 5 seconds(with the key in the off position) after i pulled the batteries, then reinstalled them, i think its a blue wire to the positive battery terminal.
