ok guys, i just bought a 95 dodge ram 2500 4x4 cummins 12v utility box off a lady (it was her ex husbands) for $800!!!! a steal. it starts right up with a fully rebuilt auto.

it has been sitting for 2 years tho. i started it yesterday and drove it around for 20 minutes. seemed to accually run decent.

what should i do to it since its been sitting for so long?
im assuming burn the fuel out of it.
change the fuel filter, oil, maby coolant?
and what can i do to make sure the trannys in tip top shape after sitting

 

do a complete fluid evacuation
new filters and run some biocide and injector cleaner through it

 

yeah i figured something.
it ran ok but kinda lacked the power. asumming bad fuel and filter and whatnot

yeah haha thanks. i could have went to arizona today, my aunt and uncle live out their and my cousins were going. aha. the bodys not in the greatest condition. but i think im just gunna pull the whole drive train and part out the truck anyways

 

Fuel filter, Oil change, Check tranny fluid/ change it. Grease up the truck, Fresh fuel, Injector cleaner, Clean Air filter, and maybe run some additives in your oil and tranny. But nice job on the steal brother!! Good luck with it!!

 

yeah i was gunna trash the utility box and find a regular box. but the body needs alot of work before paint. and the speedometer and the tach dont work and idk if i wanna mess with it. i think im gunna try to find like a 94-98 f350 crew cab and drop the drive train in it. and part out the rest of the truck
