Default best 12v

I was told the 1998 12v was the best 12v because of the pump, the 215 right?

True, but the '98 was the only one available with quad cab and also available in short bed/qc, from '95-97 they were club cab (no back doors)

'98 was a one-off year with the new interior, 4 doors and the last of the P-pumped 12v's. Best possible 12v power-to-weight potential w/the shortbed.

215 pumps are ok I wouldn't go as far as to say they are the best.

I have owned a few 215 pump trucks. i dont care for that pump.. drives like a common rail. I think its the timing retard thats in those pumps . i think the 160 and 180 pumps have better throttle response IMPO . i have a 95 manual that revs very quick its mostly stock . If your pulling or drag racin thats a diffrent story . but for stop and go daily drivin i like the smaller pumps better.

The 215 is not a bad pump. It will put out a good amount of fuel with some mild mods. It just isnt for everyone. I myself like 180s and 175s.
94-95 Auto 160
94-95 5 speed 175
96-98 Auto 180
96-98 5 speed 215

Cali 5 speeds had the auto ratings
