hey guys, i just put in a new valair clutch about 2 monthes back.clutch was rated for 450hp and 950 ftlbs of torque. heres the problem.
while doing absolutely NO boosted launches, i can slip it in 3rd,and OD.
the clutch is only 2 monthes old and i have not abused it, sled pulled, or even pulled a trailer for that matter!! what should i do? i already got the HD hydraulics.
id love a southbed dual disk, but by time you buy the clutch and input shaft youll have more than 2k in a clutch. and i cant afford that.

Did you make sure to clean the clutch disks? its easy to get them dirty. Was the rear main leaking? Idk. If it was spotless then id call Valair. It might be hard to convince them that you wernt driving like an idiot but deff. worth a shot. good luck
Did you take some time to break it in? I hear they can slip a bit before they break in properly which means you kinda have to get on it to make sure it breaks in to do what you want it to do. Maybe im wrong but this may also be causing a problem.

yeah i followed the break in precedure listed in the papers to the t, and when i changed the clutch i checked the rear main seal and had no problems, and yes, i did clean the disks and the my new resurfaced flywheel when installing. i made sure to do it the right way so i didnt have to do it again. i know people pry beat on them, but whats even the point of a warrenty if they wont do anything? im gunna talk to my buddy from the place i bought it at, he said we will look into it.
Well id give them a call. absolutly. Dodgehunter84 and I put a Valiar 2 disk clutch in his 24v ( 3850 pp i think ) but anyways we got it put together and he did a massive boost launch. The clutch has got 4 or 5 hooks and a dozen 3 gear launches. They make a good clutch. NOT saying To do that . It wasnt my idea. But i know for a fact that they are pretty tough. Kinda sounds like they gave you the wrong clutch or some springs are messed up IDk. I hope you get it figured out!!
The boost launch was only a one time deal until I got through the break-in period. I haven't had any trouble with mine. I am very happy with mine, like TwinStackPete379 said I've pulled the sled a few times and few other things that would really test the clutch and it works great.

why would you do a boosted launch during the break in period? or am i missing something.
the valair dual disk is only 900 bones. but it says street use only no competition. but id only be hooking up once maby twice a year. what do you guys think? plus that blows having to get the new imputshaft.
