ok. new to diesels but learning fast. wanting to know some specifics on tuning the afc. i know hw to adjust the starwheel and fuel plate but caan the actual afc housing be moved also?

 

YES I HAVE A COVER UP PLATE IF U WANT

 

what exactly does a cover plate do?

you can push the housing foward but the true way of afc tuning is with a tuning kit it has several different springs in it to get it just right

 

what do u get when u slide the housing forward and turn starwheel towards motor? i dont mind seein it smoke so thats no issue. i also have all gauges to monitor my temps.

in for more fuel. liding the afc will give you more fuel and so will the starwheel.

what is done to ur truck? the stock trans wont hold much if its auto.

 

I doubt he'll damage his transmission by tuning the AFC . Anyway, the cover plate hunter is talking about just gets rid of the AFC housing all together. Makes changing out plates easier, and dumps the max amount of pre-boost fuel if I'm not mistaken.

 

thats what it does ... but max pre boost fuel is useless it will just blow tons of smoke and go no where.

on a side note 94 12valve has to be one heck of a good name I think 3 others have it
