I have been trying to find a link (With pictures) but have found two different answers on how to replace the rear main seal.

I have a 94 CTD so from my understanding all I have to do is pull the trans and pull the seal.

is that correct?

pull trans, remove flexplate, remove seal, install new seal, done.

 

might wanna reinstall the flexplate n the trans before your done

 

take 2 small self taping screws and screw them into the old seal opposite of each other and then use vice-grips to pull the seal. I broke a seal puller on my old 97 trying to pull it out.

make sure you don't put them in too far out from the center, I screwed up and marred the metal a bit, but not enough to leak.

 

Ya I should have mentioned that, since I did the samething Just pay attention to the position of the screws.

 

I did mine, its pretty easy, especially if your used to a gasser. I was amazed, and thought "Man I love this Cummins" I used a slide hammer and popped it right out.
