Default KDP tabbed

Well I'll put on my flame suit here as I should know better but I FINALLY tabbed my KDP yesterday. Stumpman sent me a pic showing the KDP on his green truck and it was out about an 1/8". I called him up and told him that it needed done and that I have yet to do mine. I've had my truck for oh......6 years and known about it for 5-1/2 of those and never got around to it....yeah dumb I know. So he told me to get the seal and cover gasket and bring the truck down and we'd do it. Well I took him up on his offer and went down int he snowstorm yesterday and we (he) tabbed it. It was odd having someone else work on my truck while I watched but he had it down to a system and I just helped where I wouldn't get in his way. The cover was off for a seal replacement at one point in the trucks life but the previous owner never knew or didn't care about the KDP and it was about and 1/8" out as well. With 225K on the clock. So don't wait around and gamble guys......get it done. ANd thanks to Stupman for offering the warm shop and his KDP killing expertise.

I would just get the seal and gasket from Cummins and make the tab from a 3/8 fender washer................cakewalk

I went to the local Freightliner/Cummins dealer. $75 for the seal and gasket and Stumpman made the tab out of a fender washer...

You got a deal cause that lists for $105 and the TST kit doesn't come with the timing cover seal....just RTV.
