did they ever use the 47re for the 12 valves or is it just the the 47rh?

 

The RH was used in 94, 95, 96 and 97, I believe. After that (98-2001), it was the RE.

 

I think some or all the '97s have the RE as well. My '98 12V has a 47RE.

 

I know my 97 has a 47re. I thought they started using the REs in the 96 and up

 

So did I - I was using Fritz's Dodge Ram Tech because I wasnt certain. I think what they have listed on their site isnt correct. 97's and maybe some 96's had the 47RE.

Of course Dodge caused lots of this confusion because they used the old parts until they were gone. Some trucks (97/98/99) are a missmash of parts.
