Default 3k gsk

How hard is it to install a 3k gsk in a 97 cummins? Do you recommend installing 60lb vs with 3k gsk?

not that hard to install but no need for valve springs unless you spin it over 3200

Is it worth getting the 4k gsk over the 3k? If so what do i need to do to the truck for 4k gsk.

probably better off with jsut the 3k GSK. i've read that the 4k is abit touchy for street driving. the 3k will keep you in the fuel MUCH longer than stock while maintaining drivability and not over doing it, for street trucks i think a 3k will be just fine as you dont really need to pull until 4k. the trucks were built with a certain power band in mind; with out altering certain components it'd just be a waste.

get the 4k. youll want it anyways..
then youll need 60lb springs.
not a hard job.
a pencil magnet and vernier calipers help.
and make sure you get both

3K is fine for an auto. The manual guys seem to like the 4K better

As stated, pretty easy to do. I've heard it's even easier if you pull the driver side inner fender and work through the wheel well. Measure the stud stick-out before you remove the stock springs. Put it back in the same amount. Don't do it by counting clicks.

isn't it the 4k that is a 3k with extra springs? You can get the 4k then not use the 2 smaller springs and it's the same as a 3k kit. With the 4k you will want the 60# springs.

Most kits come with the springs to do the 4k set up but if you leave the two smallest out it is the 3k kit. The worst part for me was the little metal washers and making sure those suckers didn't fall in.
