Stock RPMs?

I know I've seen it somewhere but I can't find it now. My truck seems to fall on its face just above 2 grand. What's the max speed on a p-pump? Forgive me, I'm new and retarded

well stock they're governed at around 2200, but you can get governer spring kits to turn 3 grand, 4 grand (HD valve springs required, valves float at 3200), hell i think u can get kits for 5 grand and higher

215 pumps are a touch higher but retard timing the faster you spin them

yeah get a set of 4k's and 60lb valve springs.
then do some timing work. thats what i need to get done

Definately get a 4k spring kit, helped my truck out tremendously. Get some gauges, fuel plate, tuning, and a better clutch and youll be havin all kinds of fun.
