Default i need help!

i have a 1996 dodge 2500 and the front axle wont lock in the hubs. the transfer case is working just fine but the front wont lock in and i think it might be the vaccum module that mounts on the axle itself but not sure if anyone has any suggestions to wat it might be please help!

Im not sure what it could be. Its either the transfer case or your axles. But the transfer case is like a mini transmission for the front wheels so if its not locking it could very well be the transfer case internally not engaging the front drive line.

check your u-joints on the front and if they are bad then make sure when you pull the axle to check the splines that the sleeve slides over behind the vacuum acuator. mine were kinda screwed up from my u-joints being worn out and trying to lock in 4wd. but if they arent to bad some simple massaging with a file will fix em right up.
