Default Why is my truck missing still?

Hi, My name is Chavis Smith, im 18 years old and have a 94 12 valve Cummins. It has a small miss when driving at low rpms and while in the shop you can hold it wide open and it just pops and cracks and white smoke will roll, but when normal driving it blows black coal. I have 370 Bosch Marine Diesel Injectors, 100hp, New high performance injection pump with 191 hf dv, and is timed well above stock settings, with a ddp 140hp fuel plate in it. It also has an Air Dog 150gph lift pump on it too. the truck runs like a top and will make anything behind you disappear. My old man an i can not figure out the problem. Could anyone maybe help me? Thank you very much.

well i don't think it could be that cause the truck was missin before i put anything on it. I thought maybe the injectors were bad so thats why i bought the 370s, then that didn't stop it so i figured my pump needed rebuilt so i bought a new performance pump and it is still missin. We thought it might not be gettin enogh fuel so i put the air dog on it. the miss has gone away a little but is still there. but who knows one day ill get straightened out.

if ya done all the other stuff i would look at your push rods could have a bent one, been there done that found that heavy loads and and lots of fuel can be devestating on the valve train, ive got new heavier billett ones from hamiliton going in when i do my rebuild this winter, good luck

Pops, cracks and white smoke means you have air seeping into your fuel system somewhere. The marine injectors will not cause that unless you have a bad one and since you say it was there before I am leaning towards air.Time to check all the fuel lines, including the return and your connections at the tank.

Thanks fellas for your help. The pump was built by Pensacola Fuel Inection Inc. I just put the pump on about 4 weeks ago and it helped a whole lot, but yeah its still missin. Im in School now but the truck is getting worked on because of this reason now back home, so ill have them check all the lines and what not. Thanks guys.

Your pump rebuilder could be part of your problem. I have no first hand experience with them but I have seen posts from unhappy people.

pensicola is crap.. i bought a set of 7.3 (suposubly rebuilt good to go injectors for 600 dollars) and i paid to have a shop put them in and then they were junk..failed the buzz test on all 8. paid to have them taken out and sent back. ok so theres 500 dollars in labor and 600 in injectors. they sent em back and i paid the shop again they gave me a break and only charged me 400 this time. well again 7 out of 8 failed the buzz test after i drove around on them for a week. they were so bad they wouldnt even start the truck if it was below 65 degrees out. Well needless to say i was mad and out of money so i had to figure out how to take them out myself and send them back. I told him i didnt want any more from him and to refund my money. well guess what no refund he did offer to pay me the (core price for them) i told him to go suck a *&# and kept them so i could use them for cores when i bought my other injectors from a good shop.

soory for the venting but i tell anyone i come across about them and there shady work and ethics. So if it were me i would look into the pump bein your problem only because pencicola did the work.
