Could over heat. The biggest give away is a poor seal or coolant pushing into the coolant tank...WITHOUT bubbles, any indications of oil, fuel or bubbles would say you've got a blown HG.

or if the hoses collapse when the engine cools; that means the air valve is bad. other than that... pushing coolant as mysterync said is a tell tale sign... you can also have them tested at your local shop... they'll probably do it for free too

If you've used any bars leak in the truck the cap is bad another way I've always been able to tell is if you can push the spring in easily. Isn't it amazing how a lil old bead of wax can cause us so much trouble

A buddy of mine poured some of that headgasket repaiar crap in and didn't follow the directions 4 grand later he wished he woulda just did a head gasket hahahaha. But seriously the best advice I can give is goy spen 20 bucks for a good cap and see if that's the prob or pressurize the coolant system with about 15 pounds of shop air see if it holds that will tell you if its mor then the cap

well i just found our radiator and cap tester and itn the middle on the edge where its saudered together. my dad said some thin about rodding it? Where they put rods through all the tubes make sure there not bent and sauder it and fix it. That work?

yeah you can rod the cores... it'll clean out any deposit from the cores but that involves taking atleast one tank off. if you have alittle extra money to spend go to a radiator shop and price out a new core for it. rodding and then resoldering the tank back on is cheaper and will make your money go further.

radiator shops are able to get most cores... by core i mean the tubes that connect the top and bottom of the radiator. they can usually do somethin like this for about the same price of a C-H INA radiator and it's much more reliable IMO
