first gear shift fumbles
My trans (96 auto) has 64k on it that was rebuilt by aamco.... It dont want to shift into 2nd if I am on the fuel. Everything on the truck is stock. It was leaking some fluid from around the pan til I snugged it up (I didnt over tighten it or break anything) The next day after I tightened the pan it started acting up. Once its in 2nd gear its fine. Anyone have any idea whats going on?

TV cable... chryslers use goveror pressure which is constant depending on engine and pump speed but is varied by the throttle valve. adjust it... pusht ebutton in on the side with a pocket screw driver than there are burrs on the cable that feel like notches... go one notch at a time... pulling the cable torward the firewall will delay the shift... be easy with it... its really easy to go too far and then lose track of where you began. you could mark it for reference... band adjustment may also be worth the while

well I adjusted the cable almost all the way in, meaning I slid the holder almost as far back on the cable as it will go. This is where the tranny shifts as close to as what it did before it acted up. With it adjusted like this is there any chance that it will make it burn up? I dont think that I will drive it till I get some fead back. Thanks for the replys guys.
I am probably going to change the fluid and buy a torque wrench so that I can adjust the bands tomorrow.

The way that I worded that my be a little hard to understand. I slid the cable towards the radiator. It shifts good at normal takes offs and shifts good when I mat it. It shifts around 2700 when on the mat. With the cable adjusted anywhere else it wants to hang up in first and then shift real hard into 2nd.
