yeah; i've thought of a crack in the intercooler being spread open at 20 psi but that wouldnt cause it to drop completely to 0 and act like a pop off valve... a crack or tear opening from the pressure would limit max psi that could be reached. not a complete boost loss. i'm still thinkin it has something to do with the drive pressures of the turbo... (wastegate malfunction) just humor me please so that we can get rid of that possibility indeffinately i'm also currious... for your set-up i'm sure you have a pyro? obviously it sky rockets with full fuel and no boost... just wondering what else it is doing...and idk why low psi operation would be fine. to me; it sounds like it is something that is controlled by boost since it is pressure sensitive and specific... which is really only two things... the AFC and wastegate.

You could also have a crack in the exhaust manifold. When the pressure builds it opens up and lets all your drive pressure out. They usually crack along the bottom. However just because you can't feel any cracks doesn't mean it isn't. They can be kind of hard to find. Look for soot showing where the exhaust has been blowing out.

cracks would explain low boost conditions but not and complete loss... as stated before cracks and leaks will limit the ammount of charge pressure that can be built; wont cause it to drop to 0... and for it to "reset" only to pop right at 20 psi again... just please do us and yourself a favor, dont assume that the adjustment on the waste gate is keeping it closed... thoroughly inspect funtion and then eliminate operation by other means than adjustment... you've tried everything else.. it isn;t going to hurt to try this. and blowing alot of smoke is alot of fuel no air issue; not a defuel due to the governor.
