just put a 12 valve p pump in my 2000 chevy hd wrecker wired the fuel shuttoff up to factory dodge relay turn key on seliniod gets hot and smokes have checked all wiring and appears to be right ohm checked selinoid appears to be ok any body got any ideas

 

deffintatly grounding oout somwheres it sounds like to me..

 

When you turn the key on you should have power to the small (LG/BK) wire going to the solenoid. Power goes the the large (RD/VT) wire when you crank the engine. The other large wire is ground (BK/TN).
