high EGT's!
this is going to be a long post explaining what ive already tried to test but im still stuck.
i just oringed the head and put in studs and also installed twins and II 370s. the twins are a 35/40 hybrid over an ht3b. for some reason my egt's are way too high when im just crusing. like 800-1100 going 45 in 4th gear not even quarter throttle and my boost is about 10psi.
here is what ive tried: putting stock injectors in, checking all boots to make sure they have no holes and are sealed around the tubing, both turbines spin freely and suck good, checked intake manifold gasket to make sure it was seated, plugged the wastegate on the hybrid (ht3b has none).
my probe for my pyro should be good since it worked fine before i started the work on the truck. the only way it could be off would possibly be from when i first started the truck and had the oil drain kinked on the hybrid and oil got by the seal in the turbo and into the manifold and turbo foot but then after i fixed it the oil got spit out the exhaust or dripped out. i wouldn't think oil would have screwed my probe up.
my stock turbo whith fuel plate, rack plug and full cut DV's would push about 40psi and only get up to 1100 deg max and right now my truck is set up exactly the same but with orings and twins nothing different because i took off the injectors.
anyone with the same twin set up or that have had a problem like this please post.

A 12v with a rack plug, with full cuts and a stock turbo should have produced egts which would have rivaled a forge.
My guess is a EGT gauge issue to start.Have you also pressurized the charge air system to ensure you have no pressure loss in the charge air cooler?.Leaky charge air coolers will also create higher than normal egts..

too small of a housing for the hybrid? i may be just talking out my ***... but too much backpressure from too small of a housing can cause high EGT's. but i also agree that something is wacked with the pyro. as hammer said... rack plug and DV's would be like a smelting oven under the hood with the stock induction system...

nope i ran it for a few weeks with that set up before pulling the head to put orings and twins on. highest its seen is maybe 1100. i turned down the star wheel tho so it wouldnt deliver all of what the full cuts can give. it ran perfect. and no i haven't pressurized the system im not sure how i would do that.
i just drove it yesterday and it was staying at 1100 when i was at about 28psi so maybe it is going to be fine ill check higher boost levels once i get another retorque done in a few days since it still needs a little more time on it before doing it.
im also going to try and thow a different probe in there to check if thats my problem possibly.

timing is stock for a 94 5 speed. im not sure what that is but between 12 and 14 is what i think they come with. i am gonna bump it up soon but still didn't think it should be as high temps as they are right now. maybe timing will make a huge difference but i wouldn't think 400 degrees different at crusing speeds.
