Default reving motor in neutral/park more wear??

i was just wondering if revving the engine in neutral or park puts more wear on the engine as opposed to just letting it idle and only touching the accelerator when there is a load on the engine?
2 how about diesel motors in general?

3.how about a n/a diesel motor?

i have only owned diesel vehicles for over a year now and am learning all the time.i have heard that a diesel will use more feul under load and was thinking if reving or idling a diesel in neutral will put more wear on engine parts since it will be getting less diesel feul.

i hope toat least learn some new things
thanks

A loaded engine is under more stress than one at idle, when revving an engine you are still putting wear and stress on the engine, just not as much, if you over rev the motor, then you can have some serious problem.

this is the best way i can explain it

build up? You mean boost?

---AutoMerged DoublePost---

You only get boost when the engine is under a load. If there's no load and you just rev the engine, you won't get any boost build up.

ffirst off, revving an automatic up in neutral or park is hard on the tranny/torque convertor. next why are you revving it up in nuetral?

Prolonged idle is not recommended , they have high idle mods for your truck , as for engine load dont worry about it the quadzilla shows me low engine load numbers under most conditions

i meant buildup in cylinder head area.i am thinking of running some diesel purge in the system and was wondering if this would be ok on the engine.I might just put some diesel kleen in the fuel filter and run it that way.half and half perhaps.
i was thinking that since the engine is under less load when in neutral then it will get more wear as it is not using as much fuel that is lubricating the walls if at all.

not true, when your doing boosted launches, reving in nuetral you can build serious boost even if the engine isnt loaded. when i do boosted launches i can get the boost up to 15psi in nuetral by just reving it, before leting the clutch loose

the way most people talk about power adders/tubos they dont make boost at all without a load.
thanks for that feedback .i was sure you could make some substantial boost in neutral or without much of a load....i just watched a video of an engine on the stand making a hell of a whistle.....
still unsure if there is more wear on engine internals when in neutral than when under load

ive heard that reving an engine in nuetral is harder on it than if it has a load against it
