are you asking for an understanding of the purpose of the DV? or just the ratings? either way DV's are used solely for the purpose of a 1 way check valve. by keeping abit of pressure on the line they keep beginning of injection times pretty freakin close to port closure. to my understanding different DV's affect the ammount of pressure being held in the lines... i believe facotry dv's hold up to 2-300 psi on the line (the more psi held in the line the closer the injection timing is to port closure reducing injection lag) the fact that factory set injectors take upward of 2100-2300 psi (if set correctly) to open fuel isn't being injected constantly. when injectors are worn this residual pressure bleeds off into the cylinder and is best described as a drippy injector. so main purpose of the DV is to reduce injection lag; also larger dv's flow more fuel more efficiently when you have a pump CRANKED

if you cut a 100 plate you'll get less fueling at the bottom and then full fueling at the top which is jsut easier on a tranny. just my $0.02

so does anybody have a pic of a dv? I'm totally confused now. Is it actually part of the injector body? Or can someone give a little more detailed explanation for my thich head, LOL.
