Default 12v surges off idle BAD!

So its a 1994 dodge 12valve. Fuel plate removed, star wheel turned full forward, 4 inch exhaust. I installed marine 370 injectors last night and if your taking of real slow is surges really bad to the point were the whole truck jumps, but if you take off at half throttle it doesn't skip a beat. I can't run OD in town anymore of otherwise it surges and jumps. Any ideas guys? Just started after I put my injectors in...

---AutoMerged DoublePost---

I talked to a diesel specialist that I know and he said its not getting enough air... (Too much fuel). I'm going to reinstall my stock fuel plate and turn my star wheel back.

Yeah the 370's alone give you a lot more fuel. It must smoke like a freight train...

i would take out the 370s. Marine injectors are made to run at one steady rpm, when u put them into a truck and vary the rpms they get real jerky or in ur case start surging. If u have the money i would buy a set from ddp or haisleys

i know you can shim them injectors with thinner copper washers to get them closer to the piston bowl and set you timing way higher to acomidated the spray pattern but i dont recomend it with out a big turbo or a big tranny

Thats actually incorrect....

Its going to be hard to know what exactly your problem is without knowing anything about the truck.BUT,if your trying to jam all that fuel down the throat of a basically stock motor that still has stock timing then I'd agree with way to much fuel and not enough air and timing to light it.

Shimming the injectors up or down would not change much if the timing is left alone and still stock. If its putting the fire out due to overfueling then placement of the injector(depth) will not help one bit.I am going to hope you have some sort of transmission upgrade to handle the power once you have it lit because if you do not then your next issue will be trans related.

All the smoke one can shove out the tailpipe means absolutely nothing if your not making any power while doing it.You should rethink your tune a bit and possibly then you find what your wanting.

Those who think that the Marine 370 is a nasty injector need to understand that about every performance 12v injector out there is made from or based off of them.I have seen a set of marine 370's make 792hp at one of my clubs shows and the guy who did it regularly drove his truck and pulled it locally. They are one of the cheapest bangs for a dollar a 12v guy can get...........Andy
