Default PCM issue

any ideas where to find a PCM new/rebuilt for a reasonable price? i'm not haveing any luck around my area!

no luck at junkyards around here...must be a popular part! ebay i didn't find for a diesel only v8's! i'll keep lookin though...thanks!

If you search the threads here - theres a place that sells tested PCM's/ ECM's for liek $200. Cant remember which thread though.

i haven't been into the PCM on our truck... is there an EPROM chip that you can swap with your old PCM so you can maintain your mileage? i'm thinking ours is on it's way out too...

i don't really know of any chip for a 12valve...not saying there isn't one! whats the EPROM chip anyways?

few #'s on pcm but here ya go....P56040 or 502AD that was on the sticker on the pcm i'll have to take the pcm out later to see if there's a serial # engraved on the back!

EPROM is just a removeable chip that you can swap from computer to computer in the rigs when replaced... keeps most of the drivers settings and information on it that way you dont have to run around and reprogram the tire size and gear ratio's and such... wasn't sure if they incorporated something of the sort on the PCM so that the mileage could transfer
