Default hx35/40 waste gate

hi guys how do i know what position the arm on the turbo should be at for the waste gate to be closed?i would imagine when the arm on the acuator is in the waste gate is closed. and when you put air in the acuator or moved the rod out manual the waste gate opens.
is this correct?

yes,if you are looking at the arm on the gate,if it's up it's open,if it's pointing toward the motor it's closed.

if you are under the truck looking at the lever/arn on the waste gate(the one that the actuator pushes)if the arm is pointing up it is open, when it closes it comes down and points toward the motor.mine moved freely too when it was disconnected from the actuator.the actuator was messed up.i just took a wire and wrapped around the lever and wired it down or closed.

i wouldn't worry about it.take the three bolts out of the actuator and get it out of the way.then take the arm on the gate and work it back and forth several times to make sure it's going all the way closed.then close it,and tap it down with a hammer to close it tight, then run a wire around it and tie it off some where then it's done. i don't think you have to worry about the boost going too high.i get like 38psi with no gov.springs, and i'm probably fueling even harder than you with the injectors and all the afc mods.

in your signature it says non gated turbo.if that's the case then why are you worried about this?
