Default cummins on a budget

hey guys i'm new here but i just bought a 95 12 valve last week and its getting to be a pain in the *** to get passed by my friends 2.2l s10.

i need parts and mods i can do on a tight budget (under 2000$) to get this thing moving

i already have gauges, and an exhaust

What else can i do?

If you got gauges you can go ahead and grind your fuel plate (free mod) without any worries of melting a piston, air intake, and a set of injectors... And maybe making your into a hx35/40 hybrid.

build your own intake ( BAHF), 3k gov springs, fuel plate of your choice ( or just grind your own), mod the afc, and dump all the extra money in your trans

yeah the 3k gov spring will make it feel like it has way more power and must of the things to make your pump push more fuel are free also you could get a boost elbow or just block off your wastegate. save the big dollars for whats behind your motor though they have a nasty habit of going bang

i would upgrade your transmission, converter and valve body. that will use up your money, but you can grind the barrel of the afc .090, and do the washer switch, also the mack rack plug, grind your fuel plate into a 100 or 0 profile and slide the afc control full forward as with the plate, then adjust your star wheel and pre boost screw to the desierd adjustment. (all done for ZERO Dollars)also put a set of 4000 rpm gov spring kit, get them for like 100 bucks, and you also want a boost elbo25bucks or make one for 5 from ace harware. you should be well into the high 290hp and low 700ft lbs. save some more money up and get a nice set of injectors depending on what your doing with the truck, and upgrade your turbo i like the super B and the ddp90hp for street use, i would also advance your timming to about 16.5, get arp head studs some 60lb valve springs and o-ringed head. this should get you to a respectable safe 500hp and 1000ft lbs, with a proper tune Good luck, welcom to DB, people here will help you with any of your questions and if you need some reading up than just do some searches in the site and you will learn more than you need to and figure out how to dum over 10,000 in a truck quicker than you can make it!
