i just bought an autometer trans. temp gauge. can i just 't' into the wire going into the factory trans. temp. sensor that is in the trans hot line that comes out of the tranny instead of cutting the actual cooling line and installing a brass 't-fitting'? thx

 

i would hook it up to what they say i belive that is just a high temp guage not a temp gueg. like when it gets to a certain temp then it sends a signal

 

On my old tranny I had mine plugged into the side of the tranny itself on the driver side. They removed one of the plug and replaced it with the sender. I took a picture of it for a friend awhile back when he did his gauges, so if I can locate it, I'll post it up.

 

i know the autos are differnt then the 5speed but i pulled my PTO plate and placed the sender there
