Idle
how do i turn the idle up on my truck? it's at about 800 right now. will turning the idle up help cold starts? I live in wisconsin and last winter it got down to -30 with the windchill.. being in school and all my trucks going to be sitting out in a parking lot away from ny outlits
(so no blockheater) ik that its prob not going to start at -30 but its ususally around 10-15* round here. also, when i start the truck and put it into reverse it dies sometimes.
but then when it gets hot its fine. is there any other way to improve cold starts?
thanks guys

to turn up your idle you have to reach around behind the afc its about a foot down and if you have someone hit the pedal and you look you'll be able to see where it is roughly. it is a bolt to the left of the acceleration rod... there are two bolts on it and you have to losen both of them and screw the bolt in or out depending on if you want higher or lower rpms...
little advice, do it when the truck is running and have a buddy tell you your idle so you dont have to get in and out

alright sounds easy enough... wut would u recomend the idle be at for starting it in the winter? is there nything else i could do to help cold starts? oh what would be a good battery(s) to run during the winter?
interstate batteries are the best deep cycles IMO. I have optimas and I'm absolutely un-impressed with them. I wish I had gone with the interstates but I was working at Crapa and could get the optimas for the same price. Get as many CCAs as you can.
