Default breakin

ok guys this is driving me insane. ive been babying this truck for 862 miles now, not having any fun. havent taken the boost guage above 10 sence the rebuild. there is still blue smoke at idle but is going away slowly. the oil for the most part still looks clean but im changing it at 1000. I was told the rings wont seat for about another month or till the blue smoke completly goes away. any opinions on breking would be great

no i was kidding. if you have the same mods i have ill switch ya. i was told to never put it under a real load with the initial breakin to set the rings. ive been hauling my boat a few times but its only a 19 footer with a 350 chevy inboard. th blew smoke is starting to simmer down but i dont know if thats from it warming up its 65* today

ya, ya, im not a patient guy especially when i have alot of go pedal travel left. any opinions on breaking this beast in. i start it up and let it idle at 1000rpm-1200rpm i never get the boost over 10psi. i think my down fall is i only drive this thing 30 miles a day on average

i've never rebuilt a diesel, but i have a few gas burners.i always drained all the coolant out and let it run till it started getting hot,let it cool and do that about three times.done rings seated,i don't see how a diesel would be any different.
