in the process of mine now, to just do ball joints take the wheel off, and the brake caliper off, now take the 4 bolts out of the back, get a longer bolt that threads in there the same and beat on it w/ a sledgehammer. no need to take the spindle nut off if ur just doin ball joints, if ur doin the wheel bearing hub u have to take that big spindle nut off

Well, its not that bad if you have the right tools. You should have a ball joint press and a wheel bearing puller, if you don't have the puller you put a socket on the bolts that hold the hub on, then you turn your wheel pushing the hub off. Its not that diffacullt. I would spray all your parts down with penatrating oil. If you were in my town i would do it for your for cheap, once you do it once its much easyer to do time and time agian. be careful pulling your axle out try not to damage your seal. I would also recomend to check your axle joint because if there is any play your going to want to replace it wile your in there. Good luck and post or pm anyone on here and they can help you throught it.

im not 1 to recommend turning the wheel to push the wheel bearing out bc it can bend and break things so i prefer the sledge hammer myself but different ppl have different preferences.

Ya, i agree. But if you use the tool for the job, you can split the wheel bearing. I have done it. So i now use the tool to put psi on it then i use the steering to give it a little jolt, i know that a dealer around here uses only the steering box and my friend had them do it and it blew the box....u just need to use your head when doing the job. Its not a big deal @ all. I am doing my friends truck this weekend and its super rusty.....

Just did the front end on my buddies truck shes good as new now, quite a pain but once you do it, like i said its not a bid deal pretty simple. If you got an air comprressor and a press it makes life easy

yes if your ball joints are toats it could do that. best way to tell is jack the truck up and stick a pry bar under the tire and pull up. if there is any play in the balljoints there shot.
