my truck when its cold wont idle. i have to hold my foot on the pedal for first 30 sec at least or it will just die and if i hold my foot on there for only like 30 sec to a min it will idle at like 300rpm but once its warm it idles fine at about 750 where it should. i was wondering what that could be?

I run 100% biodiesel also. I dont think that is the problem since my dads common rail runs perfect on it but i have only run reg diesel taking it home when i bought it so im not sure if it did it then.

sorry to come in on your thread but i think my prob could be similar to yours. maybe it has air in lines inicially on start up?

you may be getting air in your lines aswell, change the filter and tighten all you fittings and you should be fine

how do i go about finding where the air is getting in and what are some general problem places to look? i change my fuel filter almost every time i change my oil since we are running the B100. is it a bad thing to run it with the air at start up? it doesnt act funny any other time than start up and she fires right up no matter what just have to keep my foot on it so it will idle for a bit.

it isnt bad since ours are lubed by engine oil, but it makes it a pain with air in it. there are rubber lines coming out of the tank and rubber return line off the pump

is there any aftermarket fuel line kits that you or anyone else would suggest? is there ones that are bigger and will supply more fuel? im looking to get a 215 pump and have read something on needing bigger injector lines or fuel lines to supply enough fuel for it since my pump is only a 160 i think

check the fuel heater. those things love to suck air into the system!
