Clutch Replacement Options
I am looking for the best stock clutch replacement to put back in my wifes 98 12v. What do yall suggest?? I would put an upgraded clutch but since she is pulling her horse trailer alot i dont think she would be able to get under a trailer or back one up very well. thanks guys i appreciate it.
southbend OFe would be good but they can be kinda grabby and a bitch to back up especially with a trailer. If you call southbend and talk to Peter he could probably set ya up with something. actually a low disc pressure double disc might be your best bet...DD3250
I have been playing around with clutches for a bit. i put the south bend clutch in mine it works great but its really grabby thats what i wanted, but they have make to order clutchs there they make what you want
mine was $$$$.$$ but i wanted something bullet proof but it ranges for what you want i also looked at luk, there good for stock to 400 hp I put a lot of luk in trucks and all loved them not too jumpy when backing up there like $350 to 600
ok i really appreciate it guys. im prolly gonna look into the luk clutches cause i mean her old 12v is bone stock. i dont think she would like anything over a stock clutch. thanks again guys
is there anything that makes the luk clutches any better than the oem clutches?? the guy at the transmission shop suggested using a luk a couple weeks ago. a luk pro gold i think is maybe what he said. but ive never dealt with anything but southbends and the wife always complained trying to back my truck under a trailer when i ran trucks with southbends. but then again i was running dual disks in all my previous trucks too...
